The Story of Us
Everyone loves a love story. Whether the story boasts of great feats to preserve love or soft moments that lead to romance, we all just love love. Actually, one of the first things I ask my couples is how they met! To me, it is such a good way to get to know them and their relationship! I especially like when they both tell “their side” of the story! haha.
Josh and I get asked about our love story all the time. It’s just one of those questions you ask couples. Ya know.. “So, how did you two meet?” It comes up a lot! We love telling it {and we have our sides of the story too. ;)}. So, we decided it would be fun to share it with you! Now, I will warn you, it’s quite a ride. So, hang on and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Vanilla Twilight
A few weeks had passed since that first Tuesday study with a car full of friends. At the end of that night, they side hugged and Samantha casually gave Josh her number. So they could easily contact one another for the next study, of course. (It sounds smooth, but it was most definitely not.)
Since then, Josh and Samantha had started riding to the study alone. And, music was always playing during those rides. The volume was always up. The beats varied in pace. And Josh and Samantha grew more and more comfortable with each other as he introduced her to various artists and songs that he loved. Within weeks, interpretive dancing entered the scene. And, quickly, Owl City became one of their staples. It was so easy to dance to as they sang and giggled down the road.
On one chilly night, they rode back to Josh’s house talking, singing, and dancing as they normally did. The beat was fast. Their laughter filled the air. The glow of the dashboard lit up their faces. Quick glances between each other made their hearts flutter. They had gotten really close in the past few weeks. They were definitely friends, if not best friends. But, something had changed. Josh thought that she had started looking at him differently.
And then, the beat got softer. The atmosphere changed. And, whimsical piano notes started playing through the speakers. Vanilla Twilight by Owl City had started playing. “The stars lean down to kiss you, And I lie awake and miss you..” Samantha kept singing and dancing. He watched her for a moment. The smile on her face. The trust she had in him. “I’ll watch the night turn light blue, But it’s not the same without you” He kept singing to avoid any questions.
The song played as their goofy dancing continued. And then, he held out his hand towards her, fingers spread. “‘Cause the spaces between my fingers, Are right where yours fit perfectly” Samantha froze. He could see her sharply inhale. She stared at his hand. Within a few seconds he lowered his hand and continued to sing. She seemed a little dazed. She wasn’t dancing anymore. The song ended, and a new song began. She started singing and dancing again. The tension in the car had decreased every so slightly. But, one thing was clear. She liked him.
