Water splashed as Kevin rowed the kayak across Elkhart Lake. He was headed towards the beach on the other side of the lake. The birds were singing in the trees that surrounded the lake, and the sunshine seemed to beckon him towards his destination. But, the sun wasn’t what was causing him to sweat at the moment.
Sitting across from him was Jacque, his high-school sweetheart, his best friend. They had been together since their junior year, and now they were up in Wisconsin visiting Kevin’s family. He continued to row as he and Jacque laughed together and talked. But, in the back of his mind, all he could think about was how much he adored her… how much he loved to see her smile.
As the landed, they got out of the kayak and pulled it up onto the shore. Although he had stopped rowing, Kevin’s heart continued to race. Hopefully, Jacque couldn’t tell. He wanted to make this day special for her. He wanted her to remember this moment for the rest of her life. They had been together for such a long time, and he couldn’t imagine his life without her. And, he wanted to make her happy for the rest of their lives.
So, Kevin got down on one knee.
Jacque and Kevin,
I loved everything about your dusty blue engagement session! It was so easy to talk and laugh with you two. And, your sweet and kind dispositions had me from minute one! I had so much fun capturing this special time in your life, and I cannot wait for your wedding next summer! If only next June would hurry up! 😉
