My heart was beating fast. My hands shoot a little and my mouse rested over the submit button.
What if they don’t like them? What if I completely fail? ….
In January, I took a leap. I submitted my photos to a photo contest. But, not just any photo contest, the WORLDWIDE Shoot & Share photo contest with approximately 450,000 entries. And, because of the magnitude, I had very small dreams. The contest is split into 12 rounds. The best photos in each round move onto the next. And, I wanted to make it to Round 2! That’s it. No dreams of winning it all. No lofty ambitions. I wanted to be in the 2nd round of 12.
But, friends! I was blown away. Not only did I make it to round 2, but one of my images made it to Round 12. I was a finalist. It was simultaneously humbling and exhilarating. And I am sincerely honored to be among those who made it that far in the contest. I am blown away.
Once the results came in, the first thing Josh said was, “See! Now, maybe you will believe that you are as good as you really are!” And, I have struggled with that. I’ve struggled to believe that I am good enough or worth enough. So, this is a little boost of confidence for me. (Not that I will let it go to my head…)
Needless to say, I am so so thankful that I entered, and I am thrilled by the results. I could never have imagined that I would have gotten this far. So, I wanted to share just a quick snippet of some of the images that made to various rounds throughout the Shoot & Share contest. I totally get why people liked them. They were some of my favorites too. 🙂
Oh! And shout out to Cydni, Hannah and Will, Bridget, and the hubby since their pictures made it!!!
