It’s one of the first things you do, right?! You get engaged, you celebrate, and when its time to start planning, you find the venue of your dreams! And, it’s here that a lot of brides get stuck. The question becomes: “How do I find the perfect wedding venue?” And with all of the options out there, it’s even harder to narrow down what you want in your perfect venue. So, here’s a few quick tips to find your ideal venue!
1. Find Your Style
Do you prefer elegant and classic? Whimsical and fun? Modern and high end? Your style will help you set the tone for all of your wedding day decisions! So, find what you love!
2. Pick Your Setting
When you dream of your perfect ceremony, where does it happen? A simple chapel, a romantic estate house, a seaside villa? Finding your style is the first and most important part of booking your perfect venue! Pick a few that really stand out to you, and start the googling! However, be flexible! Just like you wedding dress, don’t be afraid to fall in love with something you never thought you would like!
Bonus: If you want a light and airy style, make sure it has plenty of natural light and that the venue itself is lighter in color (whites, creams, soft or bright pinks, blues, etc. etc.) You wouldn’t want to choose a venue with dark or wooden rooms if you want a light and airy aesthetic!
3. Use Varying Keywords
So, if you are having trouble with the first two choices, play with the keywords! Find those 2 or 3 words that you want your guests to use when describing your wedding. Here’s a quick list of words you can try:

For even more descriptors, try looking for synonyms for any of these words!
4. Schedule Visits
This is one of the most important tips! You need to visit multiple properties to see what fits you and your style! While at the venue think about what you want your wedding to look like! Make sure it fits your style and setting! Also, make sure you love the staff because they will be integral to your wedding day!
