From the moment I met Emma, I could tell how excited she was about her senior portraits! So her blush and burgundy senior session in downtown Zionsville was a dream come true! The sun was a golden hue even two hours before sunset and the leaves had just started changing. Everything was perfect for us to have an amazing time!!!
First, we started on the backstreets of downtown Zionsville. We stumbled upon a gorgeous white wall that we feel in love with because Emma seemed to pop against the simple, bright background! (I think that her blush blouse and dark hair took these images to the next level!!!) Then, we then made our way to the main brick street in downtown Zionsville. We had so much fun taking portraits on this street. We laughed a lot as we watched for cars and took some amazing images!!!
After we finished the first half of Emma’s portraits in downtown Zionsville, we drove 25 minutes to Holliday Park in Carmel, Indiana. Her first outfit at Holliday Park was a forest green jacket with a cute blouse and jeans, and we took pictures in what looked like a field of tall grass!! The sunlight was perfectly hitting Emma, and the pictures look sooo dreamy. But, in reality, these were taken in a 10×6 foot space in the middle of a PARKING LOT!!!!!! That’s right, friends. On either side of Emma were SUV’s, and a house is directly behind her!! It might have been an inconvenient location, but you can’t argue with the beautiful results!!!
And then, Emma and her mother changed the pace. The whole reason that Emma wore the forest green jacket is because she wanted to use a special prop. Emma’s grandfather has served in the military during his life, and Emma wanted to take a few pictures with his dog tag. As we positioned the tag and started shooting, both Emma and her mother started tearing up. It was such a special memento for both of them, and it was a beautiful way to commemorate their love for him. This moment, where they remembered Emma’s grandfather and what he did for their family, was the most heartfelt moment I have ever had during a senior session.
Finally, when the sunlight was perfect, Emma changed into her last outfit, a burgundy, lace dress. We took portraits directly in the sunset light for these images! I absolutely love the halo that envelops her gorgeous brown hair in these portraits. Sunset is my favorite time to take portraits, and this session was no exception.
Along with the sunset, our session ended perfectly, and we had SO much fun!! Emma was a natural and we couldn’t believe how beautiful the sunset was!!
